A new behind-the-scenes video from House of the Dragon teases the show's massive practical sets and props. After Game of Thrones ended in 2019, it didn't take long for several spinoffs were started at HBO. Among the projects that got the green light was House of the Dragon, a prequel set hundreds of years before the events of Game of Thrones. The series is set to chronicle a very different version of Westeros, telling the story of the bloody Targaryen civil war.
While trailers for the show have teased some of what's to come, many fans are curious to see how the series compares to Game of Thrones. HBO's original series based on George R. R. Martin's epic fantasy books was renowned for its complex characters, intricate plotting, and grand scale. Each major family vying for the Iron Throne of Westeros had its own castle complex, with the Starks occupying Winterfell and the Lannisters occupying King's Landing. With House of the Dragon boasting a budget of around $20 million per episode, many viewers are keen to see how it brings Westeros to life once more.
