Microsoft will be adding at least three day one horror games for Xbox Game Pass subscribers to try in October 2022. It's officially the Halloween season, and so game publishers are looking to capitalize by releasing brand-new horror games.
A variety of horror games from both indie developers and larger studios will release in October, and at least three of these projects are going to be available to play through Xbox Game Pass. Microsoft has not detailed all the new games coming to Xbox Game Pass for October 2022 just yet, but previous announcements have let fans know of some of the titles that they can look forward to this month.
Xbox Game Pass Users Are Frustrated With Review Bombing
Throughout the month of October, Game Pass is adding Coral Island, Eville, Dyson Sphere Program, Scorn, A Plague Tale: Requiem, Norco, Persona 5 Royal, Gunfire Reborn, and Signalis. Out of these, the three games that horror fans will want to pay attention to are Scorn, A Plague Tale: Requiem, and Signalis.
Scorn is the first new horror game coming to Xbox Game Pass in October. Originally set to launch on October 21, Scorn's release date was recently moved up so it will now be available a full week earlier than expected. For those that haven't been following the game, Scorn was actually one of the first games ever revealed for Xbox Series X. It's a first-person horror game that uses purposefully disgusting and disturbing imagery to invoke a sense of dread in the player. The game's art style takes its cues from H.R. Giger, known for his work on the Alien franchise, so horror fans should be in for plenty of gruesome sights come October 14.
Shortly after Scorn hits Game Pass, horror fans can look forward to the addition of A Plague Tale: Requiem.
