WB and Portkey games have announced that Hogwarts Legacy has been delayed until 2023.
In a post to Twitter, the company said:
“Hogwarts Legacy will launch on February 10, 2023 for PlayStation, Xbox, and PC. The Nintendo Switch launch date will be revealed soon.
“The team is excited for you to play, but we need a little more time to deliver the best possible game experience.”
In a video posted to Avalanche’s account, Chandler Wood, community manager on the game said “You might be disappointed that the game has been pushed out of 2022, but we’re excited to finally give you a release date you can look forward to.”

While official news on Hogwarts Legacy has been hard to come by, eager fans have been poring over old footage and the game’s official website to try to find any new information.
One fan even managed to access hidden files on the Hogwarts Legacy website, revealing the contents of the Collector’s and Deluxe Editions of the game.
Developed by Avalanche Software (Disney Infinity), the title is described as an open-world RPG that takes players beyond Hogwarts to new and familiar locations, as they “live the unwritten and embark on a dangerous journey to uncover a hidden truth of the wizarding world.”
Due to be published under Warner’s Portkey Games label, Hogwarts Legacy was originally scheduled to be released in 2021 for PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One and PC. However, last year Warner Bros delayed the game’s release window to 2022. It will now release in 2023.
