The highly anticipated State of Play extended look at Hogwarts Legacy has confirmed that the game will allow players to cast Unforgivable Curses. These spells are considered extremely evil in the Harry Potter canon and their inclusion in Hogwarts Legacy runs contrary to what some have been speculating.
Fans got, by far, the biggest look at Hogwarts Legacy in today's State of Play; the stream shed light on the game's combat, RPG elements, customization options, quest design, and much more. The game's narrative was also touched on a bit, but much of it remains shrouded in mystery. Leading up to this stream, some players were led to believe that the game would feature some sort of morality or choice system, allowing them to choose a path of righteousness or that of a dark wizard. This was never confirmed, however, and the biggest piece of information confirmed prior to this stream was that Hogwarts Legacy will take place long before the events of the Harry Potter franchise.

It looks like that choice between good and evil will factor into Hogwarts Legacy in some way. Part of the PlayStation stream focused on missions and features outside of the castle of Hogwarts. One of these activities appears to be some sort of dungeon exploration system, which will be host to "perilous threats and untold rewards". The narration goes on to say that these missions could lead players down a "darker path" before the video shows the player character casting Avada Kedavra, a curse that instantly kills its victim.
