Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag tells the story of Edward Kenway, a Welsh pirate who accidentally finds and kills an assassin. Taking the assassin's clothes, Kenway then becomes mistaken for one of the order, and is quickly embroiled in a classic Assassin's Creed tale against the Templars. For many Ubisoft fans, Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag set a precedent that a lot of its future titles should follow. Its naval combat even proved to be so successful that fans requested Ubisoft develop a fully fledged pirate game.

Something that perhaps Ubisoft shouldn't include in its future titles is the strange ladder exploit one player found in Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag. Reddit user Sea_Mathematician622 was getting pursued by guards in the game when they decided to climb up a ladder towards a tower. The guards then pursued them up the ladder until Sea_Mathematician622 flipped over to the other side of it. This confused the guards, leading to a hilarious moment where one on the other side of the ladder moves up and down before stopping to stare right at their target.
