Comedy permeates every crevice of High on Life, the upcoming first-person shooter from Justin Roiland and his Squanch Games development studio. From your talking guns to the chatterbox NPCs and enemies alike, there's something funny around every corner. This extends to the in-game TV shows, movies, and shorts, many of which Roiland and the Squanch team wrote specifically for this game. As Squanch describes the exclusive short you can check out above, "The commercials and TV shows that play on the TV can come from anywhere in the infinite intergalactic universe of High On Life - this one is a completely normal ad from a guy who built a brand new town."
For some new gameplay, don't miss our exclusive 12-minute gameplay video from earlier this month. We also posted an exclusive preview after playing High on Life for three hours. And don't forget to take a look at the zany enemies of High on Life in the concept art gallery below.
High on Life will be released on December 13 for PC and Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One consoles, including day-one availability in Xbox Game Pass and PC Game Pass. We got our first proper look at gameplay back in August at Gamescom – where it totally blew up. We've had exclusive coverage all October long as part of our IGN First "cover story" on High on Life.
Ryan McCaffrey is IGN's executive editor of previews and host of both IGN's weekly Xbox show, Podcast Unlocked, as well as our monthly(-ish) interview show, IGN Unfiltered. He's a North Jersey guy, so it's "Taylor ham," not "pork roll." Debate it with him on Twitter at @DMC_Ryan.
