Within the last several years, Kojima has used social media to not just cryptically tease upcoming projects, but also discuss his personal interests, such as movies and TV. For instance, Kojima praised Robert Pattinson's performance in The Batmanshortly after the film's release. However, Kojima's most recent fascination, and subsequent confusion, pertains to a newly released anime series.
Hideo Kojima Once Had A Game Concept Similar to The Boys' Premise
Over on Twitter, Kojima tweeted about the first episode of the new season of Made in Abyss, and while his experience doesn't seem to be negative, he was rather confused while watching the episode. Kojima mentioned how much time had skipped in-between the two seasons and how he was glad to see a familiar member of the team appear at the end of the episode.
It's likely that Kojima neglected to watch Made in Abyss: Dawn of the Deep Soul, which covers events that bridge the gap between the first and second seasons of Made in Abyss. An honest mistake, especially given the anime industry's recent trend of releasing anime movies to accompany popular series. In the last several years, anime series like Jujutsu Kaisen and Demon Slayer have both received anime films that cover canonical story events outside the main series.
