With over 30 years of experience, Phil Spencer has been a part of the gaming industry for a long time. His history with Microsoft began in 1988 when he started as an intern. Since then, Spencer has worked his way up the chain of command to eventually oversee Xbox, starting with the launch of Xbox One S. Over the past few years, he has been an influential part of the launch of the Xbox Series X/S consoles and has championed the successful Xbox Game Pass service. Recently, it was revealed that Spencer was receiving a special honor for his accomplishments in the industry.

In an announcement from the Academy of Interactive Arts and Sciences, it was unveiled that Phil Spencer would be receiving the AIAS Lifetime Achievement Award. This award is scheduled to be given to Spencer during the 25th Annual DICE Awards ceremony at Mandalay Bay Resort in Las Vegas. In addition, it was revealed that Todd Howard from Bethesda Game Studios will be presenting the award. For those interested in watching Spencer be honored at the ceremony, the proceedings will be livestreamed on IGN starting Thursday, February 24 at 8 PM PST.
