The spooky season is back in Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery as they’ve dropped 2024’s Halloween update. Throughout October and into November, the game is diving into its Dark Arts celebration, with tons of eerie events and a festive decor overhaul.
You’ll notice the Halloween vibes as soon as you step into Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery. Diagon Alley and the castle are all decked out spookily. Also, some new locations are part of the Halloween this year.
In true Hogwarts fashion, there’s a House-themed pumpkin hunt on the way. You can score magical rewards leading up to October 31st. And there’s a Creature Expedition kicking off as well. This one lets you face-to-face with none other than the terrifying Acromantula.
Have you unlocked the Swooping Evil yet? This creepy, brain-eating, sting-ray-like creature made its debut in Fantastic Beasts, and now, it’s in the game. A Special Adventure featuring the Swooping Evil is on. It has somehow made its way into Hogwarts Castle, so you need to help Hagrid catch it before anyone gets hurt.
The Vampire of Hogsmeade is a new side quest with vampires lurking nearby Hogwarts. Professor Professor Dumbledore has even declared Hogsmeade off-limits. You’ll have to unlock the One-Eyed Witch statue and see what’s hiding in the fog.
The new feature is called the Hogwarts Diary. You complete puzzles by doing different in-game activities. Each completed section of the diary reveals artwork through magic inkwells, giving you pieces of an overarching story.
First up, you’ll be invited to join Madam Pince in the library, where you’ll start your hunt for the Lost Spore Scrolls. These are from Professor Phyllida Spore, a former Hogwarts headmistress. They have all the secrets about the school’s magical fungi.
So, go ahead and download the Halloween update for Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery from the Google Play Store.
