Early reviews for the Halo show are coming in, and they are praising an entertaining but generic science-fiction series. Originally a video game created by Bungie for Xbox, the massive media franchise managed by 343 Industries now spans multiple best-selling novels, comic books, and other mediums. The next installment is the highly-anticipated live-action Halo series coming to Paramount+ this month, which has already been renewed for a second season ahead of its series premiere.
The plot of the upcoming Halo series is centered around the 26th-century war between the United Nations Space Command and the formidable alien race known as the Covenant. Pablo Schreiber stars as the iconic super soldier who goes by many names – including Master Chief, John-117, and Spartan-117. Jen Taylor reprises her role from the video games series as the voice of his trusty AI sidekick, Cortana. Halo also stars Natascha McElhone as Dr. Halsey, Yerin Ha as Kwan Ha Boo, Charlie Murphy as Makee, Shabana Azmi as Admiral Parangosky, Bokeem Woodbine as Soren-066, Olive Gray as Miranda Keyes, and Danny Sapani as Captain Jacob Keyes.
