Master Chief actor Pablo Schreiber confirms that Halo season 2 will begin filming this summer ahead of the premiere of season 1. The American Gods alum leads the cast of the Paramount+ series adaptation as Master Chief Petty Officer John-117, a large supersoldier and leader of the team of other supersoldiers known as Spartans. Master Chief and the Spartans are tasked with protecting humanity from the theocratic alien alliance known as the Covenant as they seek to wipe out humanity in the 26th century.
Alongside Schreiber, the cast for Halo includes Jen Taylor reprising her role as Cortana from Bungie and 343 Industries' game franchise, Natascha McElhone as Spartan-II creator Dr. Catherine Elizabeth Halsey, Yerin Ha, Charlie Murphy, Shabana Azmi, Bokeem Woodbine, Kate Kennedy, Natasha Culzac and Bentley Calu. Efforts to bring the action games to the screen have languished in development hell for over 15 years, first being eyed as a film before changing to television, where it would undergo multiple showrunner and network shifts. Despite the hectic development cycle, Halo earned a season 2 renewal ahead of its premiere and now one star is offering an update on the show's future.
