Another issue that held back Halo Infinite from smooth online gameplay has been resolved by 343I’s newest patch. This latest fix responds to a data bug that downloaded 300MB per a single multiplayer match.
On July 21st, Twitter user Neeko found that a single multiplayer match of Halo Infinite ate 300MB of data. After just a few matches, this could result in multiple downloaded gigabytes of data. This was later confirmed by other players, and even acknowledged by 343I itself the following day through an official Twitter post notifying players that it would look into the issue. This does beg the question of how long this issue had been going on for, and how long it would have continued if members of the community did not point out or notice it. This is not the first time that the community has noticed problems pertaining to Halo Infinite.

Fortunately, 343I came out with another Twitter post advising the community of a fix that it described as a backend solution, but 343I is still working for a more permanent solution for the August update. 343I said that it will continue to monitor the issue, but this is good news for players who were itching to get back into the game who can now do so without losing frames and slowing down their connection, although it should be noted that Halo Infinite multiplayer issues still persist in other areas.
Even so, this is one fewer hurdle that Halo Infinite players must deal with in enjoying what is otherwise a largely enjoyable multiplayer experience.
