Halo Infinite has enjoyed the best launch in the franchise’s history, according to Microsoft.
During Microsoft’s second quarter earnings call on Tuesday, Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella said the game has been played by over 20 million players since its Xbox, PC and Game Pass release in December.
Forza Horizon 5 has also attracted 18 million players since its release for the same platforms in November.
“The big bets we have made across content, community and cloud over the past few years are paying off,” Nadella said.
“We saw record engagement as well as revenue this quarter. Game Pass has more than 25 million subscribers across PC and console.
“We released new AAA titles this holiday to rave reviews and record usage. 18 million played Forza Horizon 5 and more than 20 million have played Halo Infinite, making it the biggest Halo launch in history.”
Microsoft said in November that Forza Horizon 5 had enjoyed the biggest launch in Xbox history, with more than 10 million players in its first week.
Earlier on Tuesday, it was confirmed that the Xbox division generated its highest ever annual revenue of $16.28 billion during the 2021 calendar year.
