Microsoft has confirmed that Halo Infinite’s campaign co-op won’t support online matchmaking.
It means players who don’t have a friend to play with will need to seek out a teammate themselves using other channels.
“Online matchmaking will not be available with final co-op,” a Microsoft spokesperson told GamesRadar.
“We encourage you to continue to use the Halo LFG and the new Discord voice call feature on Xbox to find players to party up with as you continue playing the beta.”
343 Industries provided the first look at Halo Infinite’s campaign co-op, as well as its mission replay system, in an hour-long preview video (viewable above) released last week ahead of the launch of a public test for the new features.
Players who want to participate in the co-op test will need to be signed up to the Halo Insider program.
In a development progress update in April, 343 said it was targeting “late August” for the final release of campaign co-op.
343 is currently investigating an issue which is reportedly causing Halo Infinite to download large amounts of data during every multiplayer match, in some cases almost 1GB.
It has said “an improvement for this issue will be included in August’s Drop Pod update.”
