Halo Infinite's Campaign Co-op beta test has been available to Xbox Insiders for several days, although the lack of matchmaking has made it noticeably tedious for players to find co-op partners. Unfortunately for fans of Halo Infinite's campaign, co-op matchmaking will not be available even when the feature releases out of beta.
Halo Infinite has had a troublesome run since it first launched back in November 2021. As the latest installment in one of the most beloved franchises in the first-person shooter genre, the game initially enjoyed a sizable player base thanks to the free-to-play multiplayer component and the campaign's sprawling open-world structure. Sadly, Halo Infinite's multiplayer has been riddled with desync issues and with the dwindling player base blaming lackluster customization options, frustrating bugs, and unsatisfying progression. Some of the fondest memories of many Halo fans involve fighting through the campaigns in co-op mode, a feature thatHalo Infinite has only just included eight months after the game's release.

Although Halo Infinite's campaign co-op beta test has finally introduced the long-awaited feature, the lack of matchmaking is frustrating for prospective co-op players. Unless players are fortunate enough to have friends still interested in aHalo Infinite campaign run, they are forced to look to third-party tools to find co-op partners. The Halo LFG tool is one resource, although it's almost entirely populated by players looking for PVP partners. Another option is the Halo Discord, though the co-op channel isn't game-specific and hosts groups running content for all Halo games. Most Halo Insiders have long since completed the campaign in Halo Infinite
