As we know, Rata Sum has some amazing technology, especially when compared to the nature-based life of the Sylvari at the Grove. Ceara took a liking to this technology and begin recording her life, making what is essentially Guild Wars' version of a video diary.

Soon, Ceara became interested in Synergetics. Essentially, this is the study of magical metaphysics, which is heavily influenced by the Elder Dragons.
