As a part of Guild Wars 2’s celebration of its 10-year anniversary, ArenaNet finally brought it to Steam. Less than a week later, Guild Wars 2 has seen so many sales that it claimed a modest place on Steam Top Seller lists across the globe.
Guild Wars 2 has been trying to coordinate a release on Steam for years. ArenaNet was finally able to overcome the obstacles preventing its release, which went live on the massive gaming platform on August 23rd, less than a week beforeGuild Wars 2's 10-year anniversary on the 28th.

Despite being a 10-year-old MMO, Guild Wars 2 has seen a respectable number of sales through Steam. At press time, Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns and Path of Fire, its first two expansions, were the 53rd-most sold title, and the Complete Collection, which includes all three expansions and five Living World seasons, was ranked #65. The End of Dragons expansion on its own was at rank #115. These ranks include non-gaming items like the Steam Deck and VR software, as well as DLC and Season Passes. The base game itself is free-to-play, excluding it from the list.
These rankings are pulled from the US-only list, but Guild Wars 2 is seeing success worldwide. Fans report Guild Wars 2 was ranked #34 in Germany, and reached rank #84 on the global Steam Top Sellers list. Guild Wars 2 also has Very Positive reviews on Steam itself, and the player count has been steadily rising since its release on the platform. It is plain to see ArenaNet did a great job with its Steam release, delayed as it was.
