As GTA Online makes its way onto next-gen consoles, players are being offered a leg-up when getting started via the new Career Builder. The PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X versions of the seminal Grand Theft Auto Vand GTA Online are soon to be released following their initial reveal last year, although it looks like players on PS5 are getting a better deal on the upgrade than Xbox users, interestingly enough.
Console disparity aside, this next-gen update will be bringing with it the next-gen version of GTA Online - perhaps Rockstar's most profitable endeavor of the past decade. Outside of GTA Online's matchmaking offerings such as races and PvP shootouts are light MMORPG elements. After customizing an avatar, players can personalize their experience with cosmetics and a broad assortment of homes, penthouses, and automobiles. Additionally, players can start their own criminal enterprises with their friends, with options available for motorcycle gangs, massive drug-dealing networks, and weapon marketplaces. These organizations are typically efficient ways to earn in-game money, though they also can take a good deal of virtual capital to get off the ground. This is often where microtransactions come into play, as they can jump-start player progression.

Although players will be able to import their GTA Online data when they get the next-gen version, a newly added feature will be making things even easier.
