Rockstar Games reports issues with the migration of Grand Theft Auto Online accounts from previous platforms, to the long-awaited PlayStation 5 edition. The migration issue affected all platforms but is now mainly causing PC players problems.
In a tweet from Rockstar Games Support, the developer detailed issues with the migration of Grand Theft Auto Online player accounts on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One that had previously migrated their accounts to PC. It appears that those issues have now been resolved, but there is still a major issue that prevents players from migrating their accounts from PC to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.

The migration issue affecting PlayStation 4 and Xbox One players that had previously migrated their accounts to PC was resolved just hours before the game launched on March 15th, 2022. At the time of writing, players that can migrate their accounts are players moving from PlayStation 4 and Xbox One to PlayStation 5 and Xbox One with a one-time migration process. Grand Theft Auto Online players on PC cannot migrate to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. Rockstar Games has also warned that some other players' profiles will be ineligible for migration if they have suspended or banned accounts, or players that have «illegitimate or insufficient progress.»
PC players now face a difficult decision whether they should hold out until Rockstar release a fix for the problem or start anew on a next-gen console and lose the cash, weapons, vehicles, clothing, and properties that they have accumulated over their playtime not to mention any player-created jobs they may have crafted.
