When Grand Theft Auto 4 was released on the Xbox 360 and PS3 in 2008, it was to a lot of praise and fanfare, coming off the success Rockstar Games had recieved with Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas on the PS2. This newer game boasted a number of improvements over its predecessors, as well as a move to the brand-new Euphoria engine that allowed for some impressive physics simulation within its large open world.
