With about a month to go before Polyphony Digital releases Gran Turismo 7, the development studio is clearing up the remaining mysteries surrounding their latest racing game. One of them is regarding the storage space required.
Gran Turismo 7 aims to deliver the sense of car culture the series is known for while being a culmination of expectations players hold for a series entry. Today, storefronts finally unveiled how much storage consoles will need to store the game.

PlayStation Direct, the official preorder page, indicates that Gran Turismo 7 will require 110GB of storage space at the bare minimum for both the PS4 and PS5. To put that number in perspective, the PS5 has the storage size of 825GB. Interestingly, one Twitter account that keeps track of the backend data of the PlayStation stores states that the PS5 version of the game is 89.445GB. However, this number excludes the Day One patch, meaning that the patch will fill in the rest of the game's storage space on launch. Players may also begin pre-loading Gran Turismo 7 on February 25th, one week before the game launches.
Originally, Polyphony Digital expected to ship Gran Turismo 7 during 2021, but the studio decided to delay the game. The game will contain 420 different cars and over 90 courses that experience realistic weather. Furthermore, unlike Gran Turismo Sport, Gran Turismo 7 will launch with the fan-favorite GT Mode where players can buy, sell, and tune cars for single-player races to win cash and build their own car collection.
