Delays have hurt Gotham Knights' momentum, but that's likely to change once the next game in the popular Batman action game franchise starts being marketed again. The game, which allows players to play as Nightwing, Red Hood, Batgirl, and Robin, remains tentatively planned for release on October 25 later this year. Yet there's now some evidence that Warner Bros. could be changing its plans for Gotham Knights, not for its release date but rather its supported platforms.
Watchful online denizens have noticed something strange regarding the Gotham Knights rating from Taiwan. The rating itself is nothing out of the normal; Gotham Knights received a PG-15 rating due to in-game violence. What's notable about the rating is that the only platforms Gotham Knights was reviewed for were the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. There's no rating for either the PlayStation 4 or the Xbox One.

Some are speculating that this could be the first evidence that publisher Warner Bros. Interactive has decided to make Gotham Knights a next-gen exclusive game. This could be due to frustrations over hardware limitations with the older consoles or potential agreements that make a focus on next-gen more attractive. At the very least, a next-gen exclusive release for Gotham Knights would allow for overall more impressive visuals. But it would come at the cost of a much smaller available playerbase.
