Google Maps brings a BIG new update that will satisfy your wallet! Starting this month, Google Maps can actually help you save money from Toll Booths on your routes. You will be able to see the toll prices and even ask Maps to change your route in order to avoid the toll booths and charges. The feature will estimate the toll price based on factors such as toll pass cost or other payment methods, time as well as day.
The option can be enabled from within the Google Maps app once it rolls out to your device. “A simple tap on the three dots at the top right corner of the directions in Google Maps will let users select the route options and ‘avoid tolls’, if they wish to avoid toll routes completely,” says Google in the note.
Google is also making the Maps experience better on the iPhone and Apple Watch. With the latest update, Maps on the Apple ecosystem will offer a new pinned trip widget, direct navigation from the Apple Watch, and Google Maps integration into Siri as well as the shortcuts app.
