The majority of the affected devices are powered by ARM processors, and users allege that it doesn't matter what programme accesses the camera; the webcam simply stops working after updating to the latest Chrome OS 100, Android Police report mentioned. The complaints from users further revealed that the indicator light of the camera activates, and the Chromebook creates a shutter sound, but there are no visuals displayed on the screen. According to the About Chromebooks page, the problem affects at least four laptops: the Acer Chromebook 14, the HP Chromebook x2 11, the Lenovo Duet 5 Chromebook 5, and the Lenovo 10e. Now, Google has confirmed that they have fixed the camera bug reported in the latest update of Chrome OS. "Thank you for your patience as we worked to resolve this issue. The fix for this issue is now available with the latest Chrome OS update," Rabecca, the Community Manager of Google mentioned in the Chromebook Help page.
