Krafton, the publishers of Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI), has named the smartphone brand iQOO as the title sponsors of BGMI 2022 esports tournaments. According to the company, BGMI will host four tournaments in 2022 for all the Indian gamers. The competitions will feature cash prizes worth Rs. 6 crores. Along with that, there will be other prizes as well as national and international opportunities for the gamers to make a name for themselves. The company stated that the partnership will strengthen iQOO’s vision to contribute to the mobile gaming industry and the esports community of India while providing a platform for gaming enthusiasts to showcase their talent.
Announcing the partnership, Nipun Marya, CEO, iQOO said, “At iQOO, we constantly strive to create and deliver unique experiences to our young and technology-savvy consumers. After receiving an overwhelming response for last year’s BGMI series, we are happy to return as the title sponsors for BGMI 2022 tournaments. This partnership will help strengthen iQOO’s commitment to nurturing and promoting the growing Esports community, and we hope that it will present an unforgettable experience for all gaming enthusiasts”.
There will be four BGMI tournaments which will be divided into pro and semi-pro categories. The tournaments include Battlegrounds Mobile India Open Challenge (BMOC), Battlegrounds Mobile India Pro Series 2022 Season 1, Battlegrounds Mobile India Series 2022 and Battlegrounds Mobile India Pro Series 2022 Season 2. The four tournaments will have a total prize pool of Rs. 6 crore. The two seasons of Battlegrounds Mobile India Pro Series (BMPS) will have a prize pool of Rs. 2 crore each.
