Today's Nintendo Direct brought a big surprise for Bond fans. GoldenEye 007, one of the best-selling titles of the N64 and a game that revolutionized the first-person shooter genre, is coming to the Nintendo Switch’s online library.
Despite its immense popularity, GoldenEye 007 has never been re-released or remastered. The 2010 remake was alright, but it didn’t quite have the same nostalgia factor as the original. Today’s announcement will bring the original game back just as fans remember it, and it’ll even have online multiplayer.

But only on the Nintendo Switch. The Xbox Game Pass version, which is out today, only has split-screen multiplayer.
The official Bond website provided us with more details of the GoldenEye re-release. Xbox Game Pass will offer an improved version of GoldenEye with 4K resolution and a far smoother framerate than the original, which could really chug along when you set off a bunch of explosions all at once. However, the online multiplayer promise for the Switch won't be coming to Xbox Game Pass, meaning it's couch multiplayer only.
While the Xbox Game Pass version is out today, the Switch re-release of GoldenEye will be coming "soon." A curious schedule considering games such as Mario Party 1 through 3, Pokemon Stadiums 1 and 2, Pilotwings 64, and 1080 Snowboarding are also coming to the Nintendo Switch’s N64 library, but they received more concrete release schedules.
But the biggest news was easily the Breath of the Wild sequel, which will be called The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, and is set to arrive on May 12, 2023. There weren't too many moments of additional gameplay to be seen,
