God of War: Ragnarök will reportedly be released in November, according to a new Bloomberg report.
Reporter Jason Schreier cites “three people familiar with the game’s development”, and claims they say the game is due for a November release.
According to Schreier’s sources, Sony is expected to announce the game’s release date later this month.
The three people, who asked not to be identified, told Schreier that the plan was still for a November release as of this week.
The God of War: Ragnarök release date continues to be the source of much speculation, with no definitive announcement yet made by Sony.
Earlier this week Gamereactor claimed that “multiple European sources” had told it Ragnarök was being delayed until 2023. However, Schreier cast doubt on the claim in a response on the Resetera forum.
“It’s hard to definitely prove a negative but Someone Who Would Know Firsthand just told me they haven’t heard anything about a slip to 2023, as did Someone Else Who Might Know Secondhand,” he wrote.
God of War Ragnarök was originally scheduled for release in 2021, but last June developer Santa Monica Studio said it had been pushed to 2022 to help the studio deliver “a top-quality game while maintaining the safety and wellbeing” of its team.
This April, Santa Monica Studio creative director Cory Barlog asked fans to remain patient for news on the upcoming God of War sequel.
“Speaking of God of War Ragnarök, the elephant in the room… We haven’t said a lot about this – that’s because everybody is heads down, hard at work,” he said.
“We are perfectionists. Everyone’s tightening up the graphics on level three, there is so much going on right now that I just wish that we could share it with you, but it’s just not ready to be shown.”
