As fans wait restlessly for any new information about God of War Ragnarök, longtime God of War director Cory Barlog advises everyone to be patient with some help from The Mandalorian's adorable infant Grogu. The second and last installment of Kratos’s journey through the Nine Realms of Asgard with his son Atreus was first announced during last September’s PlayStation Showcase livestream with an intense God of War Ragnarök trailer. This brief teaser highlighted the father-son duo’s new mission to uncover the truth behind an ancient prophecy that foretells the end of the world as they are being hunted by a wide variety of Asgardian forces and mythical creatures — as well as a previously teased confrontation between Kratos and the Nordic Thunder God Thor.
Since then, details about God of War Ragnarök have been unveiled at a much slower pace, and an official release date for the highly anticipated PlayStation exclusive still hasn’t been revealed yet. At the PlayStation Showcase, developer Sony Santa Monica claimed that Ragnarök would launch sometime toward the end of 2021, but the game would ultimately be delayed due to Kratos voice actor Christopher Judge needing to postpone his recordings after surgery. While Ragnarök's developers have said that it will release by the end of this year, many fans have suspected that the game would be held back even further due to the lack of new information from the developers — though some reports have stated that God of War Ragnarök is still on track for a November launch.
