The nominees for The Game Awards 2022 have been revealed.
God of War Ragnarök is nominated for 10 prizes, ahead of Elden Ring and Horizon: Forbidden West, both of which are up for seven awards.
The Game of the Year nominees are A Plague Tale: Requiem, Elden Ring, God of War Ragnarök, Horizon: Forbidden West, Stray, and Xenoblade Chronicles 3.
There are 31 awards up for grabs in total (see the full list of nominees below), with the winners set to be determined by a blended vote between the voting jury (90%), which includes VGC, and public fan voting (10%).
This year’s event will introduce the Best Adaptation award, a category to recognise creative work that authentically adapts video game IP to other media. The nominees are Arcane: League of Legends, Cyberpunk Edgerunners, The Cuphead Show, Sonic the Hedgehog 2 and Uncharted.
Featuring world premieres, musical performances and special guests, The Game Awards will be streamed live from the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles on Thursday, December 8.

It Takes Two won the top prize at The Game Awards 2021, where it scooped three awards including the coveted Game of the Year.
Other headlines from the show included the reveals of Alan Wake 2, Sonic Frontiers, Star Wars Eclipse, Wonder Woman and Slitterhead.
The Game Awards enjoyed record viewership figures last year, according to its organisers.
