After multiple leaks and rumors, developer miHoYo has confirmed a release date for Genshin Impact version 2.6. Even with the unofficial information circulating about the new update, it's good to know that the release date is officially confirmed for March 30, 2022.
The Genshin Impact live-streamed aired on March 18, revealing the confirmed release date on top of approved new content. This content includes a new character, banners, an area to explore called The Chasm, events, a sword, and artifact sets.

Considering the recent Genshin Impact leak on Reddit revealing the game's new limited characters, fans can anticipate 2.6's new character, Kamisato Ayato, Ayaka's older brother, and the second Hydro sword wielder in the game behind Xingqui. Although he was technically announced on social media some weeks ago, introducing new characters and banners is usually each update's focal point. Based on videos, Ayato seems to bring intense speed, which was a gripe mentioned by fans that the developers neglect attack speed stats on multiple characters.
This 2.6 update bringsan area called The Chasm, making it officially explorable for players. The site is an abandoned mine far below Liyue that's always been available but unable to be ventured and has a new boss lurking within its depths known as the Ruin Serpent. Previously announced player events will be available such as Outside the Canvas, Inside the Lens, Vibro-Crystal Research, and Spices from the West. The Hues of the Violet Court: Irodori Festival also has related story quests and four minigames that reward players with the character Xingqui upon completion.
