Between new regions and characters, it's safe to say that Genshin Impact players have a lot to look forward to in the foreseeable future, especially with a new major region being just around the corner. Character leaks are a big part of the game as they create tons of hype for the upcoming content. An official Genshin Impact statement has revealed that the upcoming six to seven months should bring abundance of new characters.
An interesting post on the popular Genshin Impact Leaks subreddit has shared more information about an official statement released a couple of months ago. In a presentation back in 2021, Hoyoverse's President and co-founders, Cai Haoyu, has revealed that the game will add approximately 17 characters each year. Over the last six months, the game has introduced four five-star and three four-star characters, including the upcoming character Kamisato Ayato. This means that ten new additions to the playable roster should be made in the upcoming six months.

According to numerous leaks and rumors, the next six months should include the following characters: Yelan, Kuki Shinobu, Cyno, Heizou, Varka, Nulou, Baizhu, YaoYao, Collei, Scaramouche and the Dendro Archon Kusanali. The next character to be released is probably the Hydro bow user Yelan, considering that her model has been leaked in the current beta. However, unlike Ayato, there were no information about her kit which hints that she will probably appear in a quest rather than joining the playable roster in the upcoming Genshin Impact update 2.6.
