Slasher classic Friday the 13th Part 6 will screen at the original location where the movie was shot, with Tommy Jarvis actor Thom Mathews in attendance. Horror icon Jason Voorhees made his memorable screen debut in 1980 in the shocking final shot of the original Friday the 13th.
Of course it wasn’t until the second Friday the 13th movie in 1981 that Jason actually became the budding series’ central antagonist, and he didn’t get his iconic hockey mask until the third movie, which came out in 1982. Jason’s rampage was then supposed to end with 1984’s Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter, but while horror villains may occasionally be killed, money-making horror franchises never die. 1985’s Friday the 13th: A New Beginning proved to be a flop with fans however, as it interestingly brought back Tommy Jarvis from The Final Chapter, but ill-advisedly introduced a new killer masquerading as Jason. Paramount got it right though with 1986’s Friday the 13th Part VI: Jason Lives, which properly resurrected Jason Voorhees and actually made him more powerful than ever.

Today in fact the Jason-reviving Friday the 13th Part VI is widely regarded as one of the better entries in the entire series. Slasher fans will now get a chance to revisit the horror classic in a very unique setting, as Myers House NC’s On Set Cinema is set to screen the movie in the very same park where it was largely shot. As an extra treat, Tommy Jarvis actor Mathews will be in attendance, marking his first time back on the location in 36 years. The event is set for July 1-3 and July 3-5, 2022 at Hard Labor Creek State Park in Rutledge, Georgia. Tickets can be purchased directly from
