Fortnite Chapter 3: Season 2 launched with an array of new content including new points of interest to explore, new mythic weapons, and much more. At the same time, fans have been reminded of previous seasons with the return of lightsabers and Star Wars cosmetics to celebrate May the 4th. Now, the latest Fortnite patch is getting us ready for the return of the fan-favorite Choppas, while also balancing shotguns.
Choppas were first introduced to Fortnite all the way back in Chapter 2: Season 2. They are now getting ready to make a comeback, as long as you are willing to give up some of your gold bars. Funding stations for Choppas have been established at every Seven Outpost. Once a Choppa is fully funded, it will unlock and you will be able to take to the skies.
Apart from the addition of Choppas, the latest Fortnite patch is balancing shotgun damage. The first adjustment has increased the minimum pellet-hit count from 3 to 4 for the Striker Pump Shotgun, Automatic Shotgun, and Drum Shotgun. In terms of the Striker Pump and Automatic Shotguns specifically, pellet damage and headshot damage have been increased. However, the Ranger Shotgun and Drum Shotgun has seen a significant increase to headshot damage, but no changes to the base pellet damage. Also, the Drum Shotgun has been hit with a falloff damage adjustment, meaning the effective range has been shortened.
Finally, the Fortnite patch has added a Browse menu which you can find beside the Discover page. This allows you to search for new games by genre. Using this feature will see you find an array of new games and experiences, no matter what you enjoy.
