Fortnite keeps its massive player base engaged through its incessant rolling out of new content to discover. In addition to regularly updating the title, Fortnite is constantly dealing out new quests for players to tackle, including a multi-step one requiring the use of a Sensor Backpack to find an energy fluctuation somewhere on the island.
Epic Games' ever-popular free-to-play battle royale title is in the final few weeks of its Chapter 3, Season 2. The turbulent season initially divided its fanbase when it completely removed its signature building mechanic, before restoring it and creating a dedicated Zero Build Mode. The game's most recent update, v20.40, reintroduces Sideways weapons to the Fortnite map, along with a host of console-based performance improvements.
Fortnite Adds Obi-Wan Kenobi Skin
The quest at hand is part of Fortnite's Resistance quest line, the more story-based challenges intended to correlate with the game's ongoing plot between The Seven and the Imagined Order, or IO.
As mentioned before, this quest contains multiple phases, so before using the Sensor Backpack, players must first establish a device uplink at Seven Outpost 1 or Synapse Station. With the first step complete, start heading north towards Loot Lake, where players can grab the Sensor Backpack along the way. Fortnite's Sensor Backpack can be found at either of the marked locations below, just off the roads.
Once players have established the device uplink and collected the Sensor Backpack, they're finally ready to find the actual energy fluctuation. The only issue is, Fortnite doesn't provide markers as to where these energy fluctuations specifically are, instead giving a general one of where Loot Lake is.
