Throughline Games has a sequel to PS4 indie classic Forgotton Anne in the works, and it's asking fans to help bring it to market with a Kickstarter goal set to expire in 11 days. The team needs €100,000 to ensure the game can be made, and is currently just over €40,000 short of it. Titled Forgotlings, check out the trailer above to see more of it.
PlayStation versions will be made if the Kickstarter reaches its initial target, with a stretch goal adding local multiplayer features. Here's the premise: «Driven by a heartfelt story about things we have lost, this epic semi-open world adventure features novel dialogue mechanics and real-time combat that balances hack-n-slash with strategy and stealth, combined with stellar voice acting and a beautiful score featuring an award-winning choir. An unforgettable journey into an imaginative and wholly original world filled with wonder.»
Pledge rewards include anything from a key to play Forgotton Anne, an artbook, and a mention in the game all the way up to a chance to visit the developer in person and create a Forgotling yourself. As for why Throughline Games has turned to Kickstarter, the developer said: «We are in a situation where our current budget doesn't quite get us across the finish line and a successful Kickstarter allows us to receive additional funds from our publisher as it reduces overall risks.»
