The Disciplines in Final Fantasy 14 give players a lot of options for how to dress their characters, with classes like Armorer, Leatherworker, and Weaver letting players create their own armor that can be worn across several classes. However, one high profile Final Fantasy developer has taken the creation aspect of the Weaver class in order to launch a signature line of clothing.
Coming from Final Fantasy series creator Hironobu Sakaguchi, this new outfit line has the incredible pun of a name SakaGUCCI, with unique creations that the developer posts and trades to other players online. This makes for a rare case where even though Sakaguchi hasn't worked directly for Square Enix since 2003, the legendary developer is still creating content for Final Fantasy 14 fans to enjoy.

The clothes themselves are flashy outfits made by Sakaguchi himself with his Level 90 Weaver, which he then takes online and trades with select players and other acquaintances. Sakaguchi also requests that players who receive the SakaGUCCI gear don't resell or give away the outfits, but after the first trade he did mention expecting to see the clothes on the market soon. Considering that anything made by Final Fantasy 14's crafting classes are effectively signed by the player, these items that have the SakaGUCCI signature on them could quickly become collectors items.
So far, Sakaguchi has conducted these outfit trades four times, with a fifth giveaway currently ongoing at the time of this writing for fans to participate in. Generally, the developer will make around ten of each outfit, giving away a handful to other players and some to personal
