Square Enix has promised that 2022 is to be a big year for the Final Fantasy franchise. It marks the 35th anniversary of the Final Fantasy franchise as a whole, and multiple milestone anniversaries for various entries in the long-running franchise. Square Enix is currently supporting the MMORPG Final Fantasy 14, and preparing the next mainline game, Final Fantasy 16, for release, however it appears there is more to come from the series.
