Final Fantasy 6 Pixel Remaster is finally on its way, and Square Enix has revealed that one fun detail from the original game will be returning, with a few tweaks. So far, the pixel remasters of previous Final Fantasy games have reviewed very well, with critics discussing the numerous quality of life changes and the enhanced graphical fidelity of these classic titles.
While the remasters of previous titles have proven successful and have their share of fans, the release of Final Fantasy 6 has been the game most anticipated by the Final Fantasy community. Considered one of the greatest video games of all time, Final Fantasy 6 has garnered a massive following since it’s release in 1994, with praise for it’s complex narrative and themes, and variety of interesting characters like Terra Branford and the villainous Kelfka.
Final Fantasy 6 Pixel Remaster May Remove Censorship from Original Release
During Final Fantasy 6, there a mission in which Sabin Figaro, alongside other members of the party, must do battle while trying to outrun the Phantom Train. One of Sabin’s attacks, Meteor Strike, is one of the most iconic attacks in Final Fantasy 6, as it allows him to suplex said train to indirectly comedic results. Though many consider this to be a design oversight, Square Enix has confirmed that the ability to suplex the Phantom Train will remain intact in Final Fantasy 6 Pixel Remaster in a recent tweet.
In a follow-up to the tweet, the team mentioned that the clip shown was taken from a pre-release version of Final Fantasy 6 Pixel Remaster, as many noted that while the animation of Sabin preforming the action is still there, the attack didn’t follow through on the original version in which the train completely flipped over, which
