Players of Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn are taking one of the 6.1 patch's latest features, Adventure Plates, and making them NSFW. Final Fantasy XIV first came out in 2013, but in December of 2021, it released the Endwalker expansion pack that concluded the ongoing story. Patch 6.1 is the first big update since then, and it introduces the beginnings of a new story after the events of Endwalker.
Final Fantasy XIV's latest update, called Patch 6.1 - Newfound Adventure, brought Adventure Plates, along with new story and PvP content called Crystalline Conflict. Adventure Plates are a fully customizable way for players to show off more personality for their character, otherwise called a Warrior of Light. Players can control everything from the portrait's background, camera angle, lighting, border, frame, and of course the pose and expression of their character. Players can save up to 20 of these pictures, with more expected to come in future updates. These plates also display information such as the player's name, Grand Company, and Grand Company Rank. While a player can control what is displayed and what is kept private, if a player takes part in Final Fantasy XIV's PvP, the portraits from their team's Adventure Cards will be displayed on screen for all to see at the beginning of the match.

As is the fate of many fully customizable things, some players are using their Adventure Plates to show off their more NSFW side, by posing their characters in suggestive ways.
