The Good Place star William Jackson Harper responds to the outpour of fans, who believe that he is the perfect choice to play Reed Richards in the Fantastic Four reboot. Shortly after Disney acquired 20th Century Fox, Kevin Feige announced the arrival of the highly-anticipated properties in the MCU. Further details have yet to be released, with speculations of more to be unveiled at Comic-Con San Diego or their bi-annual D23 Expo event.
Following the fruition of the dream cast of John Krasinski as Reed Richards in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, many have continued to swarm online to discuss who will carry on the mantle of the smartest man on Earth-616. Amongst the ongoing fan discussion of various actors, Harper’s name is frequently mentioned, primarily due to his quintessential role as the brilliant yet indecisive Chidi Anagonye in NBC’s The Good Place. Previously, the actor has also been attached to the dream casting for the next Superman iteration for the same reasons.

In a recent interview with NME, Harper responds to the massive online campaign for him to tackle the role of Mr. Fantastic. Although Harper was flattered by the consideration from fans and would be on board with joining the Fantastic Four cast, he states that Marvel has yet to reach out to him and that being dream-casted on Twitter doesn't necessarily factor in the casting decisions for films.
