Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, the promising new turnbased RPG from Sandfall Interactive, looks absolutely incredible and has attracted an all-star cast – so why, then, is it so cheap? That’s what fans are pondering, after pre-orders for the title were deployed on Amazon for $49.99 – a budget price in this era of $69.99 (or higher) titles.
While it’s nice to see an anticipated release with an affordable price sticker, it’s led many to wonder what gives. Obviously, the game isn’t skimping on production values, so many feel its scale may be smaller than originally anticipated; perhaps it’ll last a little over ten hours, or maybe its levels will be largely linear with little room for exploration.
Due out Spring 2025
It’s a reminder, perhaps, that much about this game remains a mystery. While the brief snippets of gameplay remain extraordinary, we still don’t know how it’ll be structured outside of combat – and how long an average playthrough will take.

Yeah I think that means its going to be shorter and more linear. Which could still be great if the graphics and gameplay hit the whole time.
