Long before creating the hit Fox sitcom, Family Guy's Seth MacFarlane was a part of the Johnny Bravo team and is looking back on his being fired from the '90s animated show. Created by Van Partible, the Cartoon Network series centered on the life of Johnny Bravo, a muscular and self-proclaimed womanizer loosely inspired by Elvis Presley, his voice similar to the music legend, and James Dean. Johnny Bravo follows the character as he tries and fails to get women to go on a date with him and finds him caught up in a variety of odd situations.
Johnny Bravo was voiced by Jeff Bennett, also well-known for his work as Brooklyn in Disney's Gargoyles and Kowalski in Nickelodeon's Penguins of Madagascar series. Running for four seasons on Cartoon Network, Johnny Bravo has enjoyed a long-lasting legacy with those who grew up with the character as well as receiving generally positive reviews for its subtle adult humor and pop culture references, which included such celebrity guests as Adam West, Shaquille O'Neal, Seth Green and Donny Osmond. Johnny Bravo would also help launch the careers of many then-unknown writers and creators and now one is looking back on their time with the series.
