Modding is something that gamers have enjoyed for decades, with dedicated individuals and whole teams crafting new ideas to be implemented into already-established IPs or even just improving what the official developers put out. PC gaming in particular is awash with incredible game mods, which breathe new life into beloved franchises and help keep the communities interested. Fallout: New Vegas is no exception to this, and these two modders have created a unique add-on for the 2010 release.
Allnarta and Tomminfinite have uploaded a file to Nexus Mods called «Apollo Androids,» which is essentially a mod for Fallout: New Vegas that allows players to take on the role of an android. The page describes it as a «unique» model for the male characters of the game, which comes with «fancy features.» Such features include an HP level indicator attached to the spine of the droid which sounds like something from Dead Space, interchangeable colors, new perks for speech and barter, and «visual body destruction.»

As with all the best Fallout: New Vegas mods, it's completely free to download, but players will need a few additional add-ons to be installed prior. Overall, judging by the images uploaded to the mod page, «Apollo Androids» looks like an interesting addition to the game. While there are clunky robots in the Mojave Desert, this gives players a chance to become a sleek non-human character, which some may feel is perhaps better suited for Fallout 4, but is a fascinating modification for this entry.
