Fallout 3 Fan Creates Real-Life Bobblehead Treasure Hunt Around Washington, DC

A user has 3D-printed some Vault-Tec bobblehead figures from Fallout 3 and placed them around Washington, DC. While Bethesda has now confirmed Fallout 5 is coming, it's good to see that fans are still engaged with some of the older releases. The series has been going strong, with the possible exception of Fallout 76, since the Skyrim developer took over the franchise in 2008. With such a huge open world, there's lots for players to explore, and one thing many like to do is seek out the little in-game figurines.

Of course, it's not always about fun adventuring. Fallout 3 is considered a defining entry in the post-apocalyptic genre, and it does have elements of horror. This was the first installment in the series that had a fully 3D environment, and with it came highly defined terrors of the wasteland, such as the ghouls and the Deathclaw. Since then, the series has been something of a staple for those who get great joy out of open-world titles that take place after nuclear disasters, and sometimes this can take the form of a real-life treasure hunt.

As spotted by PCGamesN, a number of images have been uploaded to Imgur which show the Fallout 3 bobblehads being placed around numerous locations throughout the capital city. Each one has been custom printed and represents a different type of figuring that players can normally collect in-game, such as the Luck or Strength bobblehead. Mafnxxx even included Action Abe from the game, which looks like Abe Lincoln and was placed at the Lincoln Memorial.
