The leak was right, the Fall Guys and Sonic crossover event is starting today and will run from August 11 - August 15. PlayStation released a cute new trailer that shows the little beans in their Sonic, Knuckles, Tails, and Eggman costumes as they zoom around a new stage inspired by the Green Hill Zone of Sonic, aptly named the Bean Hill Zone.
The trailer shows both a fun cinematic where Sonic and Tails race, as Knuckles grabs Sonic and sends him plummeting to his death and some actual gameplay where the beans boost through dash rings and collect golden rings around the stage.

If you want to dress as Sonic and his pals - and nemesis, Eggman - then you'll need to complete challenges to earn their outfits over the next few days. The ones shown in the trailer seem pretty easy. Just collect rings and hit certain distance milestones to get the points needed to unlock all the rewards.
The Bean Hill Zone is decorated with bounce pads, conveyor belts, tunnels, and boost rings. It all looks very Sonic. Gameplay from the level was actually leaked in late July.
In other Fall Guys news, it was recently discovered that losing is a much faster way of guaranteeing battle pass progression than trying to win. Completing challenges rewards good progress, but once they're done that slows to a crawl. As such, getting 24 points for losing a round makes losing five in the first round back to back more time efficient than trying to play through all the rounds.
The game also surpassed 20 million players within two days of going free-to-play, showing it was the right move. It also has a clone that's climbed to the top of the mobile charts, Stumble Guys. Not even trying to be subtle there.
