Knuckles the Echidna is getting his own TV show, and here's everything we know about the Sonic the Hedgehog spinoff. Sonic the Hedgehog 2 just spin-dashed into movie theaters everywhere, and while it remains to be seen how the box office will turn out, advance word has been quite kind to the sequel. For their part, Paramount Pictures is fully ready to stay onboard the Sonic train, recently confirming development on both a Sonic the Hedgehog 3 and a Knuckles TV show spinoff.
While the Sonic franchise has spawned several popular supporting characters, including Tails, Shadow, and Amy Rose, arguably the biggest star of the series next to Sonic himself has been Knuckles. It took a bit for Knuckles to make his Sonic debut though, as the echidna didn't arrive on the scene until 1994's Sonic the Hedgehog 3 video game, although he quickly rose to co-protagonist status in follow-up Sonic & Knuckles. Knuckles has gone on to appear in dozens of games, even duking it out in the Super Smash Bros. franchise.

Oddly enough, Knuckles has only ever gotten one solo gaming adventure, that being 1995's Knuckles Chaotix for the Sega 32x. Thankfully for fans of the brash monotreme, Knuckles can finally get his just due in his own spinoff TV show. Here's what we know about the project.
The response to Idria Elba's vocal performance as Knuckles in Sonic the Hedgehog 2 has been terrific so far, with many arguing he steals every scene he's in.
