In Pokémon Legends: Arceus, trainers are tasked with seeking out every Pokémon in Hisui, including the powerful Legendary Pokémon that inhabit the region. Not only are Legendary Pokémon guaranteed to spawn as part of the game's Story Missions, but their catch rates are higher than previous games, making these mythical monsters easier to capture than ever before. However, trainers shouldn’t take these battles lightly since Legendary Pokémon are still some of the fiercest opponents in the game, and they can attack the player directly thanks to the free-roam gameplay Legends: Arceus introduced to the series.
Only four of the eighteen Legendary Pokémon in Pokémon Legends: Arceus can be caught before beating the main story. Most of the Legendary Pokémon in the game are encountered as part of Cogita’s post-game Missions as she sends trainers across Hisui to gather the remaining Arceus Plates and solve the region’s most pressing mysteries. Trainers can accept and complete Cogita’s Missions in any order, but since most Legendaries are level 70 or higher, they will need a strong team of Pokémon before attempting to challenge these powerful opponents.

Unlike previous games in the franchise, Legendary Pokémon can’t be permanently knocked out in Legends: Arceus since catching them is required to complete the final story missions and beat the game.
