A handful of AEW wrestlers have decided not to renew their contracts recently, and each individual has a different reason for doing so. Stu Grayson, Joey Janela, Jack Evans, and Marko Stunt are no longer part of the All Elite roster, in a week that also saw numerous WWE stars released from the NXT brand. Fans of AEW haven't seen a ton of talent leave the company, but with Cody Rhodes splitting for WrestleMania 38 and these recent departures, it's starting to become more common.
All four of the performers had been with AEW since the early days of the company. Janela had been involved in high-profile feuds during All Elite Wrestling's first year, while Grayson was a member of the popular Dark Order stable. Stunt was also initially involved with the mega-over tag-team Jurassic Express but hasn't been seen with that duo in quite some time.

Janela had been talking about not re-signing with AEW for a while now, while Evans is 40 and got lost in the shuffle, and Stunt had been utilized almost exclusively on AEW Dark shows. Evans is a journeyman performer who has a ton of matches under his belt. He was brought into AEW to team up with his former AAA tag-team partner in Angelico to form The Hybrid 2. He was last seen on live television during the September 29, 2021 edition of AEW Dynamite, when he took part in a massive 16-person tag match and was on the losing end.
