Actor and comedian Pauly Shore shares an update for Encino Man 2. Shore began his career as a stand-up comedian, creating a surfer dude persona that propelled him to stardom in 1989 when he joined MTV as a video jockey. Shore starred in a series of films shortly thereafter such as Son In Law, In the Army Now, Jury Duty, and Bio-Dome. Although most of his films were not well-received by viewers, Encino Man stood as an outlier.
Encino Man stars Shore as Stanley «Stoney» Brown, best friend to high schooler Dave Morgan (Sean Astin). While digging deep in Dave's backyard to build a pool, the teenager uncovers a large block of ice with a caveman (Brendan Fraser) frozen inside. Soon the ice thaws, releasing the caveman into the 1990s to discover the wonders of the advanced world. Although the film was panned by critics, it was a box office success and quickly developed a cult following.
