In a shocking development, it has been revealed that the Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk has sent an email telling his employees that remote work will no longer be acceptable. He added, “Anyone who wishes to do remote work must be in the office for a minimum of 40 hours per week or depart Tesla”. While the billionaire entrepreneur refrained from commenting on the authenticity of the email, he did reply to a tweet about the email and stated that people who think coming into work is an antiquated concept “should pretend to work somewhere else”. On Wednesday morning, a screenshot began circulating on Twitter which contained an email from Musk. The subject of the email was “Remote work is no longer acceptable” and over the next three paragraphs, the Tesla chief went on to explain the need for the employees to report back to work and what the consequences might be if they failed to adhere to it.

Subject: Remote work is no longer acceptable
Anyone who wishes to do remote work must be in the office for a minimum (and I mean *minimum*) of 40 hours per week or depart Tesla. This is less than we ask of factory workers.
If there are particularly exceptional contributors for whom this is impossible, I will review and approve those exceptions directly.
Moreover, the "office" must be a main Tesla office, not a remote branch office unrelated to the job duties, for example being responsible for Fremont factory human relations, but having your office be in another state.
